Prof. Yi-Ming Shyr was graduated from National Yang Ming University in 1984, and completed his surgical residency training at Taipei Veterans General Hospital from 1986 to 1991, and has been the attending general surgeon at Taipei Veterans General Hospital since 1991. He served as the Chief of Division of General Surgery, Taipei Veterans General from 2012 to 2019. Currently, he has been working as a professor in General Surgery, Taipei Veterans General Hospital and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. He has published more than 250 papers, including 2 papers in Annals of Surgery, top ranking in surgery. He is one of the Editors of the textbook, “Pancreas Transplantation – the Asian Experience” and the chapter author in textbook, “Pancreatic Cancer”. His major interests include pancreas surgeries, with experience of more than 2000 cases of pancreaticoduodenectomy and 190 pancreas transplants. His team has been very actively involved in minimal invasive surgery, especially robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy, with experience more than 900 cases of robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy.
